Unrequited Love

I know I've posted this before. But this little guy surprises me every time I come across this image in my files. I had pet mice as a little girl. My best mouse ever was named Gumdrop. She was white, with perfectly round little red bulgy eyes. Gumdrop would scrunch herself into a perfectly mounded gumdrop shape. I loved that little mouse like CRAZY!! Alas, it was an unrequited love.

This illustration was created using Prismacolor colored pencils - which I also love like crazy. The wax allows the pigment to build up in layers. Enough layers and I think the wax helps make the colors glow. Is that glow...love?
