The Opera Poster
The client was located in Guadalajara, Mexico. I had seven days to turn this project around. An image was needed for use everywhere; newspapers, posters, billboards, sides of buses, coasters at nightclubs. The opera, La Verbena de la Paloma is a historic opera first performed in Madrid, Spain in 1850. The image I was to create needed to take its place firmly along side all the other art created over the years advertising this much loved opera. Seemed like a tall task at the beginning, but I got into it. Read the opera and its history, researched Madrid, its people and their clothing. I received sketches of the dresses to be worn by the two female leads and went to work.
What you see it the final art, minus the type, which was set down in Mexico. This is another example of vector graphics.
