During the week I draw and create for others. But my own creative drive and voice are very much alive. I’m constantly working on my own art, where I’m free to experiment and go what ever direction my muse takes me. The playfulness and clarity I return with keeps my client work fresh. Every piece of art I create is part of a continuum. Each piece can stand alone, but I find it interesting to show the work together so viewers can see how all the paintings are parts of a larger thought.

Most of the art I create for clients has to do with the natural world. I’m often asked if I’m a biologist, which I consider a great compliment. I’ve learned so much from all my clients’ and all the different projects over the years. My work has been a continuing education in the natural world.

I’ve long admired this brave little wetland. I love the startling color, wildness and intensity of the wetland surrounded by the docile farm fields.
